Welcome from our Associate Dean We invite you to view our online catalog and read about attending SFTS either in Northern California or in Southern California, our application process, our outstanding faculty, our many financial aid resources, and much more. As you will see in these pages, we offer a variety of programs designed to prepare you for the ministry to which God is calling you; whether that be as a pastor, missionary, Christian educator, seminary professor, or denominational executive. Over the past decade SFTS has become a two-campus seminary:Our beautiful, historic Northern California campus in San Anselmo, CA offers an exceptional opportunity to experience a season of intentional, residential, worshipful Christian community where the theological, spiritual, and practical aspects of ministry can be integrated. The SFTS Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Doctor of Ministry degrees, and the SFTS Diplomas in the Art of Spiritual Direction and Spiritual Formation Studies as well as the Graduate Theological Union common Master of Arts degree - may be earned at the San Anselmo campus. Our vibrant and innovative Southern California campus in Pasadena, CA is intimately connected to the culturally diverse community which is the Church in Southern California. You may complete the Master of Divinity, the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, or the Certificate in Ministry Studies on this campus while continuing to work, minister, or serve in your current vocation and life situation. We also host a Southern California Doctor of Ministry Program in conjunction with the Northern California Campus. Many courses are specially designed to stimulate cross cultural ministry and to accommodate those who come with a variety language abilities, including English, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese. On both campuses we are committed to preparing whole Christian leaders for the whole Church. We seek to be simultaneously Presbyterian (Reformed) and ecumenical, traditional and progressive, academic and pastoral. You are invited to experience SFTS and SFTS/SC first hand. In Northern California you are invited to attend our “Thank God it’s Friday at SFTS” or our “72 hours of Discernment” weekends. In Southern California, join us for Seminary Saturdays held four times a year. As you visit either campus, you will have the opportunity to dialogue with faculty members, network with students, attend class, and worship with the community. We look forward to welcoming you in either Northern California or Southern California, as you embrace God's Call, in your life, ministry, and vocation.
